Back in November, we had a wonderful "soft launch" in Baytown to raise awareness for our upcoming production and on June 28th we had our first official fundraising event that included a staged reading of our updated (and re-named) script MUSTANG MARTHA in partnership with the Baytown Little Theater. Here's a link to the PROGRAM with information on the cast and project.
What an incredible night. The VIP pre-event featured a silent auction full of donated items, donated hors d'oeurves, and a donated open bar. We raised about $5,000 and everyone's generous TAX-DEDUCTIBLE DONATIONS through our fiscal sponsor From the Heart Productions are moving us one step closer to our shoot this coming March 2026. We are especially excited that two members of a large donor organization attended the event, a great pre-cursor for our pitch meeting in September. Fingers crossed!
Thank you to everyone who came out and especially to all our volunteers and actors who made the night so magical. The most important (in my mind) success of Saturday's event was the theater full of Baytown residents hearing this Baytown story and learning more about our intentions and efforts thus far. We want to tell this community story in this community, with this community, and for this community. And it was clear from the laughter and feedback afterwards that everyone thought we were doing a good job representing this place and its people with compassion and authenticity.
In the fall, we are planning some more fundraising events and are meeting with potential donors/investors. Stay tuned! Sign up for news HERE. In the meantime, here are some photos from the event!
And remember, you can always make a tax-deductible donation to support production!
